“Para el actual Gobierno, el tema ambiental y los asuntos que aquí nos congregan representan una alta prioridad de Estado, tal como quedó reflejado en el Plan Nacional de Desarrollo, que define las líneas de política fundamentales para los próximos años”, aseguró el jefe de la cartera ambiental al recibir el galardón.
Esta distinción se entregó a la Unidad Técnica de Ozono del Ministerio, por su gestión de diseño, implementación, seguimiento, evaluación y ajuste de políticas, estrategias e instrumentos nacionales en materia de cambio climático, prevención y control de la contaminación atmosférica, así como en restauración y recuperación de la Capa de Ozono.
El Ministro recordó que se ha logrado la eliminación del 70 por ciento de la línea base de clorofluorocarbonados CFC (1.542 toneladas), cobijando a 27 empresas del sector de refrigeración y a 86 empresas del sector de espumas. También se han llevado a cabo programas masivos de capacitación en mejores prácticas a nivel nacional y regional.
Explicó que se trabaja en el servicio de refrigeración, implementando la certificación e identificación de técnicos calificados, para generar mayor capacidad institucional, a través de la capacitación de agentes aduaneros para el control del comercio de las sustancias.
